Home Landscaping

Home landscaping does not just include sticking plants into your empty front or backyard and making it look “green”. When designing and landscaping around your home, you will need to spend some time and put in a lot of creativity to improve the appearance of your backyard or front garden.

Here are some do-it-yourself hints to landscape your yard

First, clear the place where you will probably be designing and start from scratch. This will provide you a better ‘canvas’ to work with. Afterward, sketch the general appearance that you want to have for your garden. Make a listing of shrubs, trees and the plants that you can plant. When choosing the kind of plants, make sure that there’ll be a plant that will flower or blossom for each season of the year – spring, winter, summer and autumn. For example, perennial flowers will flourish in May, but following that it will look like just an ordinary plant. Having a flower that blooms at another time of the year would give your garden a focal point when other plant variants are not in season.

As much as possible, create a layered seeding bed. At the back row that is the farthest from your home, plant the variants that grow the tallest. This can serve as the bottom of your landscaping. In the centre and front rows, put the plants that are shorter. Be sure that you use this rule in every area of the garden in which you plant to place in plants for a more ‘clipped’ appearance.

You may also change the layout of walls and fences. Installing a waterfall is a terrific idea to include to the main attractions of your landscaped garden. With a fair amount of creativity plus some hard work, you will feel great as soon as you take a look from your window, and you will see the landscaped yard that you designed and constructed yourself.
