Boiler Servicing
Keep your boiler ready for the year ahead
A boiler can still produce heating and hot water while developing an issue that needs attention. TNG Services provides boiler servicing across Hertfordshire and North London, checking the appliance in line with the relevant manufacturer’s instructions and explaining the findings clearly.

What happens during a boiler service?
The checks depend on the boiler and its manufacturer’s instructions. They can include inspection of the appliance and flue, assessment of operation, relevant safety and performance checks, and cleaning or maintenance appropriate to the model.
The engineer also looks for signs that further attention may be needed. If an issue is found, we explain it and discuss the next step. Routine servicing does not automatically include the cost of replacing failed parts or carrying out a separate repair.
Why service a boiler that seems to work?
Normal operation does not tell you everything about a boiler’s condition. Servicing creates an opportunity to inspect the appliance and identify deterioration, contamination or installation concerns that may otherwise go unnoticed.
Annual servicing is commonly recommended, but follow the requirements for your specific boiler and any guarantee conditions. If you are unsure when it was last serviced, tell us the make, model and available history when you enquire.
Worcester Bosch boiler servicing in Radlett
At a property in Radlett, TNG Services serviced a Worcester Bosch Greenstar CDi Compact system boiler. The documented work included visual inspection, safety and performance checks, and cleaning of the magnetic system filter.

Service visit or boiler repair?
If the boiler is losing pressure, displaying an error code, leaking or failing to provide heating or hot water, mention the symptom before booking. A known fault may need diagnosis and repair rather than a routine service alone.
Tell us when the problem started and whether it is intermittent. Photos of the display and model label can help us understand the request and arrange a suitable visit.
Routine maintenance
Share the boiler details and the date of the last service if known. Keep relevant documents available and make sure there is access to the appliance.
A fault is already present
Describe the symptoms, error code and any recent changes. We can discuss diagnosis, repair and servicing as appropriate.
Filters and recurring symptoms
The Radlett case shows debris removed from a magnetic heating-system filter. A filter captures material circulating through the heating circuit and needs attention as part of the appropriate maintenance for the system.
If radiators stay cold, the boiler repeatedly loses pressure or other symptoms return, tell us. These may require a separate investigation of the heating system. We explain recommended additional work rather than assuming a routine service will resolve every issue.
Your questions before booking
How often should my boiler be serviced?
Annual servicing is commonly recommended. Check the manufacturer’s instructions and any guarantee conditions for the requirements that apply to your appliance.
Will servicing fix an existing fault?
Not necessarily. Tell us about any known fault when booking so we can discuss a suitable diagnosis or repair visit alongside maintenance.
Is servicing the same as a landlord gas safety check?
No. A boiler service and a landlord gas safety check have different purposes. If you need a landlord record, say so when enquiring so the required work can be discussed.
What information should I send?
The boiler make and model, your postcode, the last service date if known, and details of any symptoms. A clear photo of the boiler or its display is useful.
What if the boiler needs further work?
We explain the findings and discuss the recommended work. Additional repairs or parts should be agreed according to the scope of the job.
