TNG Services Ltd was recommended to a customer in Pinner, North West London, who wanted to replace their old non-condensing Potterton heat-only boiler.
We installed a new Vaillant ecoTEC plus 430 heat-only boiler, together with a magnetic filter and a full system clean. The customer also received a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty.
Upgrading the old boiler
Replacing an older non-condensing boiler with a modern condensing appliance can improve heating efficiency. However, a successful installation involves more than fitting the new boiler — the condition of the existing heating system matters too.
For this project, we combined the boiler replacement with cleaning, flushing and protective treatment to help keep the new installation working effectively.
Installing the Vaillant ecoTEC plus 430
The new Vaillant ecoTEC plus 430 heat-only boiler replaced the customer’s existing appliance as part of the heating upgrade.
System cleaning with Sentinel X800
The heating system was cleaned using Sentinel X800 to help loosen sludge and deposits within the radiators and pipework.
We then flushed the system to remove the cleaner and loosened debris before adding Sentinel X100 inhibitor to help protect against future corrosion and limescale formation.
This preparation helps protect the new boiler from contamination circulating through the existing system.
Magnetic filter installation
A magnetic filter was fitted to help capture magnetic debris circulating in the heating water.
Together with system cleaning and inhibitor treatment, the filter provides ongoing protection for the new boiler. Regular inspection and cleaning of the filter will form part of future maintenance.
Loosen sludge and deposits in the existing heating system.
Remove the cleaner and loosened debris before protective treatment.
Add X100 inhibitor and fit a magnetic filter to help protect the new boiler.
A 10-year manufacturer’s warranty
The customer received a 10-year Vaillant manufacturer’s warranty, providing reassurance for the years ahead, subject to the manufacturer’s terms and required annual servicing.
Ongoing care matters. Annual servicing and regular magnetic filter maintenance form part of looking after the new installation. The manufacturer’s warranty remains subject to its applicable terms.
