TNG Services Ltd recently completed a boiler replacement on Leverton Street in Kentish Town, North London, NW5, after the customer’s Worcester Bosch Greenstar CDi Classic heat-only boiler broke down.

The old boiler was replaced with a new Worcester Bosch Greenstar 8000 30kW heat-only boiler, restoring heating and hot water and giving the property a fresh start with a modern heating appliance.

The customer needed heating and hot water restored following the breakdown of their existing boiler. The replacement involved removing the old appliance, installing the new boiler and preparing the existing heating system for continued use.

A complete installation — from system cleaning to commissioning

A successful boiler replacement involves more than fitting a new appliance. The condition of the existing heating system also matters, helping protect the new boiler and support reliable operation.

Our installation procedure includes:

• Safely isolating, disconnecting and removing the old boiler.
• Installing the new boiler, with the associated pipework, flue and condensate arrangements completed to the manufacturer’s requirements.
• Fitting a magnetic system filter to help capture circulating magnetic debris.
• Cleaning the heating system with Sentinel X800 to loosen sludge and deposits.
• Thoroughly flushing the system to remove loosened debris and cleaning chemicals.
• Adding Sentinel X100 inhibitor to help protect against corrosion and future sludge formation.
• Refilling, venting and checking the system for leaks.
• Completing gas safety, combustion and operational checks, commissioning the boiler and recording the results.
• Explaining the controls and annual servicing requirements to the customer.

System cleaning and protection

Sentinel X800 was used to loosen sludge and deposits before the system was thoroughly flushed. Sentinel X100 inhibitor was then added to help protect against corrosion and future sludge formation.

The magnetic filter helps capture circulating magnetic debris. Together with inhibitor treatment, it helps protect the new boiler from the impact of contamination within the existing heating system.

Gas safety checks and commissioning

The installation included gas safety, combustion and operational checks, with commissioning results recorded. The system was refilled, vented and checked for leaks, and the customer was shown the controls and advised about annual servicing.
