A well-planned heating installation should suit both the home and the people using it. For this utility room remodelling project in Radlett, Hertfordshire, WD7, TNG Services Ltd replaced an existing Vaillant ecoTEC system boiler with a new Vaillant ecoTEC Plus 635, relocated the boiler and upgraded the underfloor heating manifold.
The installation also included Google Nest smart controls, bringing the equipment together as part of a coordinated heating upgrade.
Boiler replacement and relocation
As the customer was redesigning their utility room, the existing boiler position no longer suited the proposed layout.
We replaced the old Vaillant ecoTEC system boiler with a new ecoTEC Plus 635 system boiler and relocated it to accommodate the new utility room arrangement. The installation was planned to fit within a tall unit, incorporating the heating equipment into the customer’s preferred layout.
Planning for future access. Housing heating equipment within cabinetry requires careful planning, with consideration for the manufacturer’s installation requirements and access for future servicing and maintenance.
Underfloor heating manifold relocation and replacement
Alongside the boiler installation, the existing underfloor heating manifold was relocated and replaced with a new manifold, positioned within the same tall unit.
The new manifold included an A-rated circulation pump, providing an efficient pumping solution for the underfloor heating circuit.
Completing the boiler and manifold relocation together allowed the equipment and associated pipework to be arranged around the new utility room design.
Google Nest smart heating controls
Google Nest smart controls were used for this installation, completing the upgrade alongside the new boiler and underfloor heating equipment.
Heating controls play an important role in managing comfort and energy use. They help the customer manage heating schedules and temperatures to suit their routine.
Combining suitable controls with a modern boiler and an efficient circulation pump helps the system work effectively as a whole. Actual efficiency and savings depend on the system design, settings and how the heating is used.
